Jackets finish fifth at conference meet
The 5A-South Conference Meet was held in Hot Springs on Tuesday, April 25 at Lakeside High School. On the boys’ side, the conference was won by Benton High School. The Panthers finished with 170 points, well ahead of the Lakeside Rams’ 111 points, which was good for second place.
Indians finish fourth
On Tuesday, April 25, the Poyen Indians’ track and field team traveled to England to take part in the 2A Region 5 Conference meet, putting in a fourth-place performance with 103 points. Bigelow won the event with 211 points, followed by England and Conway Christian.
Lady Jackets JV get defensive
The Sheridan Lady Yellowjackets’ junior varsity softball team was in action on Thursday, April 27 and Friday, April 28, picking up a pair of shutout wins.
Sheridan girls finish third in conference
The Sheridan Lady Yellowjackets scored 93 points to finish third in the 5A-South Conference meet, held at Hot Springs Lakeside on Tuesday, April 25. Lake Hamilton finished first with a score of 188.5, with El Dorado coming in second with 159 points.

Jackets’ northwest tour goes south
The Sheridan Yellowjackets had a full slate of games last week, winning games on Monday, April 17 and Thursday, April 20 before dropping three games to northwest Arkansas teams over the weekend.

The Sheridan Junior Yellowjackets had seven first-place finishes to win the conference championship at the River City Conference Meet in Sheridan on Monday, April 17.

On Tuesday, April 18, the Poyen Junior Indians and Junior Lady Indians traveled to England to take part in the 2A Region 5 Junior High Conference Meet.
Junior Lady Jackets win conference meet
Sheridan hosted the River City Conference Meet on Monday, April 17, with the Junior Lady Yellowjackets winning convincingly. Sheridan finished with a total of 192.66 points, while second-place White Hall and third-place Sylvan Hills finished with 153 points and 100 points, respectively.

Jackets complete a 3-0 week
The Sheridan Yellowjackets’ baseball team won three games with authority last week. They took down Pine Bluff 12-4 at home on Tuesday, April 11, they then took out Monticello 4-1 on Thursday, April 13 and finished the week with a 21-6 win at Pine Bluff in six innings.
