Mobile postal unit operating in Sheridan, limited services now available

The Sheridan Post Office facility has been temporarily closed since receiving extensive damage during an early morning storm on Jan. 12. Services have been temporarily rerouted through nearby post offices since, but some services will now be available in Sheridan through a mobile unit.

Winter storm slows cleanup

In the third week of 2024, a winter storm descended on Grant County. While the anticipated accumulation of snow was significantly less than forecast, the sustained, low temperatures caused minor issues in Sheridan and the county as a whole.

Storm hits Sheridan post office, damage temporarly closes office

The Sheridan Post Office sustained extensive damage to its roof during an early morning storm on Jan. 12. Due to the damage the United States Postal Service has temporally suspended operations at the 313 South Oak St. location.

GCSO to purchase tracking dog

Grant County will soon have its own tracking dog to be used by the Sheriff’s Office. The purchase of the tracking dog is being made possible by public donations, which will cover the $10,500 cost.

SSD Board approves new coach

The Sheridan School Board announced that the district had hired Kevin Kelley as its new head football coach during its monthly meeting last Monday. Kelley is said to be one of the most successful and innovative coaches to ever roam the sidelines in Arkansas high school football.
