SHS students earn ServSafe® certification

Several Sheridan High School students received their ServSafe® Food Protection Manager Certification, which is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)–Conference for Food Protection (CFP).

COTO receives $25,000 gift from West Fraser

College of the Ouachitas (COTO) has received an unrestricted gift of $25,000 from West Fraser. As acknowledgment of the gift, the College Board of Trustees approved a naming recognition, establishing the West Fraser Training Room in the CAST Building.

Moss receives DAR Youth Citizenship Medal

Gwinns to celebrate 50th aniversary

Virgil and Beverly (Damron) Gwinn of Sheridan will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 19. They were married in Sheridan on Sept. 19, 1969, at Lost Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

Hall to celebrate 90th birthday Sept. 22

The family of Violet (Fleming) Hall invites all to join them in honoring her on her 90th birthday Sunday, Sept. 22 for a drop-in reception to be held in her honor at her church, Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, located on Grant County Road 7 in Sheridan from 2-4 p.m.

Gatlin, Rojas awarded Lions Club Scholarships

Founded in 1953 the Lions Club of Sheridan has provided continuous service to the community for the past 64 years. Since 1998 the Lions Club has presented annual scholarships to two outstanding graduating seniors of Sheridan High School.

McCool named Teen Miss Little Miss Arkansas 2019

Olivia Grace McCool was recently crowned Teen Miss Little Miss Arkansas 2019. She is the 16-year-old daughter of Darren and Shirley McCool and attends Sheridan High school.
