The Sheridan freshman boys basketball team wrapped up their season on Feb. 14. The Jackets lost in the championship game of the River City Conference tournament to Watson Chapel 37-21. The Jackets trailed 19-10 at halftime and cut Watson Chapel's lead to seven at the end of the third quarter.
"Buzz Stingerton" as he is known, is the new mascot for the Sheridan Yellowjackets. Buzz, who is the first mascot for the Yellowjackets since the 1990s, will bring entertainment and school spirit to games and other district events throughout the year.
Brockton Brown was a stand-out football player during his time at Sheridan High School and went on to make his mark on college football at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia.
