On May 4, 2023, the Sheridan High School senior boys 4X400 meter track and field team competed at the state meet, breaking a 35-year-old Sheridan High School record in the event.  Ethan Anderton, Nathan Uptagrafft, Iziah Owens and Aaron Webb ran the event in a time of 3:25.82, a new school record. During the Yellowjacket Homecoming festivities on Sept. 29, the previous record holders visited the school record board to congratulate the new record holders, and to commemorate their 35-year-long school record in the event. Shannon Winston, Steve Reaves, John Hicks and Brian Watkins (pictured) previously set the record in the event with a time of 3:27.90 in 1989. “While we are proud of our accomplishments as competitors in high school, Yellowjacket pride transcends generations. Accordingly, we are proud to recognize these great competitors who now hold the new school record,” said John Hicks.
