With bright colors flashing in the air, YJ Nation saw fireworks for the first time ever being shot off at half-time during the Oct. 25 Yellowjacket game for the Think Pink event. SHS National Honor Society displayed fireworks to honor all those in our community who have been impacted by cancer. We appreciate the community's support of our efforts.

Sheridan hits ground running against Mountain Home and never looks back
RUSSELLVILLE - The Sheridan Yellowjackets put together one of its most complete performances, dismantling the Mountain Home Bombers in the process by a score of 33-7 and racking up stats that even surprised the coaches. The Jackets, playing on a clear, pleasant evening at Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys Stadium as a home game, started in with the run and pretty much kept it on the ground the entire game, picking up 379 yards in 44 attempts.

Grant County teams have tough road in playoffs
Both the Poyen Indians and Sheridan Yellowjackets find themselves facing uphill battles in the first rounds of their respective playoffs, which will begin this week.
The Indians finished the regular season with a 7-3 record, but dropped their final two conference games by a combined 45 points to fall to fourth in the 5-2A Conference.
The Yellowjackets had their best season since 2015, finishing 5-5, but lost their final three games of the year to conference opponents to take the No. 4 seed from the 6A-West Conference.

Poyen falls to fourth after big road loss
Two weeks ago, the Poyen Indians (7-3 overall, 4-3 in the 5-2A Conference) had a No. 2 playoff seed in their sights, but after a 50-21 loss on the road against the England Lions (5-5, 4-3), the Indians are now locked into the fourth seed from the conference heading into the Class 2A Playoffs this week.

Benton Panthers pull away from Yellowjackets
The Sheridan Yellowjackets had Week Two of murderers' row on Friday night and had similar results as Week One, with Benton hanging 63 points on top of Sheridan's 28.
The week before, Greenwood had a big night against the Yellowjackets, winning by a score of 42-0. Both Greenwood and Benton are historically tough opponents, and both had their A games with them against Sheridan.
