Playing the No. 2 team in Class 6A and No. 4 overall in the state on Tuesday, Jan. 26, the Sheridan Yellowjackets struggled to score as the Little Rock Parkview Patriots handed them a 58-30 loss.
On Friday, the Jackets took the long bus ride to Texarkana with hopes of capturing their first 6A-South Conference victory. But the Razorbacks got off to a fast start then held off a Sheridan rally to win 70-63.
With a chance to pull into a tie for second place in the 6A-South Conference, the Sheridan Lady Jackets traveled to Little Rock Parkview on Tuesday, Jan. 26, but the Lady Patriots held on for a 53-45 win. On Friday, the Lady Jackets bounced back but just barely as they were ambushed at Texarkana. They escaped with a 57-55 victory.
Sylvan Hills brought an end to the eight-game winning streak of the Sheridan Yellowjackets’ eighth grade team with a 51-38 win on Monday, Jan. 25. But the Jackets bounced back to beat Watson Chapel 46-36 on Thursday.
In freshman action, Sylvan Hills prevailed 35-24 and so did Watson Chapel, 42-29.
