SHS athletes take on the heptathlon and decathlon
Sheridan athletes recently took part in the Arkansas Heptathlon and the Arkansas Decathlon, held at Ramay Junior High School in Fayetteville on Wednesday, May 15 and Thursday, May 16. Those participating in the two events were (from left) Joseph Westbury, Javier Gonzalez, Carly Strong, Lauren Godwin, Mackenzie Moring and Tru Spann.
Sheridan athletes recently took part in the Arkansas Heptathlon and the Arkansas Decathlon, held at Ramay Junior High School in Fayetteville on Wednesday, May 15 and Thursday, May 16. On Wednesday, May 15 and Thursday, May 16, members of the Sheridan High School track and field teams were at Ramay Junior High School in Fayetteville for the annual Arkansas Heptathlon and Arkansas Decathlon.
Sheridan sent six athletes to the event that Head Coach Tony Bone calls “a very grueling two days,” adding that he is “proud of all of our athletes’ performances.”

Inaugural 3-on-3 scholarship soccer tournament a success
In early January of this year, the Sheridan community and Yellowjacket Nation lost a beloved member of its family when former student Hope Carter lost her life in an automobile accident.
The Noble Impact Class at SHS wanted a way to honor her memory, so they created the Hope Carter Memorial 3-on-3 Scholarship Soccer Tournament, which drew dozens of teams throughout the state and region.

Four titles in a row for Lady Yellowjackets
Four times in four years. That’s the stat line for the Sheridan Lady Yellowjackets’ softball team.
With their 4-3 win over Greenwood in the championship game of the Class 5A State Tournament, the Lady Jackets have joined the ranks of the elite few that have dominated their particular sport throughout history.
