The Sheridan High School Theater Department will present Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “The King & I” on May 2-4 at McKenzie Auditorium on the SHS campus.

Town Clean-Up set for April 27

The first annual Town Clean-Up Day has been set for Saturday, April 27, just in time for the sesquicentennial celebration, which will be held the following weekend on the courthouse square. The clean-up day sponsored by Kick Start Sheridan will include volunteers helping with tasks like planting the six planters on the square and picking up trash and limbs.

Shirron announces intent to run for Circuit Judge

Stephen L. Shirron, Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for the 7th Judicial District, has announced his candidacy for 7th Judicial District Circuit Judge, Division 2.  The 7th Judicial District encompasses all of Grant and Hot Spring Counties.  The position is currently held by the Honorable Judge Eddy R. Easley, who is not seeking re-election.

Draper found in distress, dies in prison

Rusty Draper, serving a life sentence for murdering a 17-year-old Sheridan high school student in 2017, died in prison on March 31, according to the Arkansas State Police.

Dogs will have their day on April 20

On Sunday, Jan. 6, a vehicle accident claimed the life of 21-year-old Hope Carter, a Sheridan High School graduate who was looked up to and beloved by those in the school district, as well as the community in general.
