Property tax revenue collected in Grant County last year rose by more than $248,000 – a 3.7 percent increase over the previous year. Altogether, county taxpayers paid $6.94 million to support local school districts, county and city governments and two rural fire departments.

The Sheridan Police Department is currently seeking the owner of a stolen memorial American flag.
SPD Assistant Chief Bob Williamson said the department was contacted by an out of state agency in reference to a flag that was recovered from a runaway who was caught last week. Wednesday, March 04, 2015
It was a winter wonderland last week in Grant County at least for a day or two. However, all the icy conditions and snowfall over the last two weeks forced both the Poyen and Sheridan school districts to cancel classes due to inclement weather multiple times, and now students are looking at attending school through the first days of June to make up the missed days.
