Cook honored for volunteer efforts at Clinton center
Betty Cook had worked hard for 39 years as an educator and finished her career as a high school principal in Sheridan. As her retirement in June 2004 loomed, she and her husband John began talking about what was next for her.
"We knew that just hanging around the house wouldn't work," Cook said.

Sheridan Bottling Works
A recent donation to the museum by Mark Perkins brought forth some questions about a little known business operation in Grant County's history. Said item is a glass soft drink bottle with a broken neck. Embossed on the bottle are the words, "Sheridan Bottling Works Sheridan, Ark." Mr. Perkins said that he had found the bottle with former Grant County Museum Director Elwin Goolsby one day at the old Sheridan City Dump.
