Meat shortages hitting home; supplies low, prices high
The coronavirus has roiled the nation's meat processing system leaving those that serve and sell beef and other meat products locally scrambling to find anything to provide customers.

All meat, but particularly beef, has been in short supply at grocery stores, and as prices climb and supply continues to dwindle, anxious restaurant operators and grocers are wondering what's next.

New contract approved with Waste Management
Grant County was paying Waste Management Inc. more than $50 a ton to dispose of its solid waste in the company's landfill in Jefferson County.
But County Judge Randy Pruitt said he that seemed high to him so when he got the opportunity, he put the contract out for bids. Waste Management still got the contract, but its bid was for $39 a ton.
