Sheriff candidate has record, now sealed
As the race to be the next Sheriff of Grant County heats up, one candidate might have more than just his opponents to worry about. Rick Camp, a candidate in next month's Republican primary, pleaded guilty to a felony in 2004, according to documents filed in the Grant County Circuit Clerk's office

Campaigning underway, early voting starts May 9 for May 24 Primary Election
With the 2022 preferential primary less than two months away, voters will soon have an oppor-tunity to choose their party's nominee for a wide variety of races. In the absence of a presidential election, most folks are focused on other major elections such as the race to occupy the gover-nor's mansion, and the state's U.S. senate election. GCCT presents "Alice in Wonderland"
The Grant County Theater proudly presents, "Alice in Wonderland" on Friday, May 13 at 7 p.m., Saturday, May 14 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 15 at 3 p.m. This delightfully funny play is adapted by Michele L.Vacca and is based on the Lewis Carroll classic. The Narrator, played by Greg Reed, tries to keep some semblance of order as Alice, played by Lauren Appleget meets the very intimidating Queen of Hearts, played by the very sweet friend of the theater Karen Goins.

Kuttenkuler speaks about SCCTC at Chamber's first breakfast event
Local business owners, professionals, and public officials gathered together last week for the Grant County Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting. In addition to enjoying great food and fellowship, those in attendance listened to a presentation by Scott Kuttenkuler. Kuttenkuler, a Sheridan resident, is the Assistant Vice Chancellor of ASU Three River's Saline County Career and Tech Campus.

County seeks to purchase old FBC building
The old First Baptist Church of Sheridan building has long been a fixture of downtown Sheridan. Constructed in the early 1900s, the building served as the home of First Baptist Church until the congregation moved to its current location towards the end of the century. Since that time, the building has been utilized for both religious and secular purposes, but has largely sat vacant in recent years. But the property might soon have a new owner as county officials are considering purchasing the property.

SSD announces new hires for leadership positions
The Sheridan School Board voted unanimously Monday night to hire Dr. Blaine Alexander as principal at Sheridan High School for the upcoming 2022-23 school year. Alexander is currently serving as interim principal of East End Middle School.
