Flags retired
Cadets of Sheridan High School’s JROTC program demonstrate the proper retirement and disposal of the United States flag during a Veterans Day ceremony Nov. 11 on the Grant County Courthouse lawn. Title 4 Section 8(k) of the United States Code states:

Cadets of Sheridan High School’s JROTC program demonstrate the proper retirement and disposal of the United States flag during a Veterans Day ceremony Nov. 11 on the Grant County Courthouse lawn. Title 4 Section 8(k) of the United States Code states: "The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.” Photo by David Jeffrey
